Outreach & Education

Denise spoke at a VCU Kappa Phi Gamma event

LINC provides outreach and educational services to the community and for cancer patients, survivors, and their families.  Outreach is community based.  LINC welcomes invitations to attend health fairs, speak at support groups, churches, clubs and organizations.  To invite LINC to  your event, please call 804-562-0592, Option 2.  LINC also provides literature and handbooks for hospitals, doctor offices, hospice, and anyone else who works with or cares for cancer patients and survivors.  Literature can be ordered by calling 804-562-0592, Option 2 or emailing info@cancerlinc.org.

Education is provided through a series of free seminars that LINC schedules at local hospitals.  These seminars provide far reaching benefits because each person who attends gains valuable knowledge  that they share with their support group or circle of friends and utilize for themselves.  By providing useful information and sharing successful strategies for surviving the non-medical side of cancer, LINC helps cancer patients feel that they are in control, and not the disease.  Upcoming seminars are listed on the LINC event page and event calender.  If you’d like to be added to the email mailing list to receive notifications of upcoming seminars, email info@cancerlinc.org.

LINC prides itself on advocacy and negotiation on behalf of cancer patients and survivors.  Community outreach and education are two ways that LINC performs these services.
